Given how Apple fans are dependent on spotlight search, resolving this issue should be a top priority.

Today, we’ll show you how to fix spotlight search if it’s not working on your iPhone or iPad.

Why Spotlight Search Is Not Working?

There are several reasons why spotlight search is not working. It could be an issue with your device’s settings or it is still indexing files and folders on your iPhone or iPad.

Other reasons for this issue are faulty software versions and corrupted user data.

1. Restart Your iPhone.

If spotlight search is not working on your device, we suggest restarting it first. This should rule out temporary errors that occurred on your iPhone or iPad that could be causing problems.

Restarting your device should also clear corrupted data from the system memory.

If you are using an iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, 14, or later, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Hold down the Volume Down button and Side button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt appears.
  2. Now, drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Side button afterward to turn on your device.

2. Check Your Network Connection.

Spotlight search needs a stable internet to give you the best results. If your network is experiencing issues, it can cause problems with spotlight search.

To confirm this, perform a test on your network using Fast.com to measure its current bandwidth.

If the result indicates a problem with your connection, power cycle your modem to refresh the link with your ISP’s servers.
